Overseas Track Athletes: Evans Wins 800m

A number of Bermudian track and field athletes competed in US college meets recently, with some of the highlights including Aaron Evans winning his race, Latroya Darrell placing 4th and Henry Stevens-Carty finishing 5th.

Bermuda’s 800m national record holder Aaron Evans made his season debut at the Big 12 vs. SEC Challenge in College Station, Texas – winning the race in a time of 1:50.49.

Latroya Darrell placed 4th in the Women’s Triple Jump in the Big 12 vs. SEC Challenge in College Station, Texas, where she reached 41 feet, 4.50 inches on her third attempt.

Henry Stevens-Carty finished 5th in the Men’s 800 Meter Run at the JRF Combined Events Invitational hosted by Clemson University, clocking in at 1:55.82.

Jasmune Bruson, competing for Clemson, competed in the Penn State National, finishing 11th in the Women’s Long Jump with a leap of 5.80m.

Brittany Marshall, competing for St. Augustine College, competed at the Ashenfelter III Indoor Track during the Penn State National, where her 11.97m throw in the Women’s Shot Put saw her finishing 22nd.
