Trio Charged: Money & Drug Offences
The charges are indictable and can only be dealt with in Supreme Court, so the two women and one man trio of Omari Franklin, 33, of Robert’s Ave, Devonshire; Dannisha Simmons, 31, of St Monica’s Road, Pembroke; and Alana Tait, 35, of Sandy’s parish; this morning [Jan 31] did not have to enter pleas to charges placed before Chief Magistrate Archie Warner.
Ms Tait and Ms Simmons were charged with using property, money to the value of $63,165, which was known to be the proceeds of criminal conduct. This offence was said to occur in the three year period between May 2007 and May 2010.
Ms Tait and Ms Simmons were charged with a second count of handling $260,294.10 by trying to remove these funds from Bermuda in order to assist Omari Franklin in avoiding prosecution. This too was alleged to have taken place in the same three year peiod.
Mr Franklin and Ms Tait were charged with possessing an illegal drug, cannabis; with possessing a scale intended for use with illegal drugs; and with possessing $127,731 as the proceeds of criminal conduct.
Mr Franklin alone was charged with conspiring with others to import controlled drugs.
All three were bailed for $10,000 each, and each with a like surety. The trio re-appears in February.

I guess there are just too many people playing the game and the pie is divided into smaller portions. You could bring in your own car, and the car dealers don’t mind. Shop till you drop overseas, You could plan a vacation on travelocity, Purchase your building supplies, furnishing, etc from home depot and ship it in. BUT DON’T GET INTO THE DRUG TRADE IF YOU’RE NOT ALL IN THE FAMILY.
