Facebookers: Bermuda Buzz 6 Wants Your Help

March 24, 2011

On Facebook? If so, a group of young Bermudians are seeking your help over the next 24 hours to win a competition that kicked off today [Mar.24].

One hundred students from various senior schools in the country are invited to attend, and the students in ‘Bermuda Buzz 6‘ – the group we are covering – are from a variety of schools including Bermuda Institute, Berkeley Institute, Cedarbridge and Mount St Agnes. Watch and listen to them below:

The conference’s main objective is for the students to showcase the power of Facebook amongst their generation by creating and launching a youth forum called “Bermuda Buzz” in the Bermuda community. Students have been given the task to design a Facebook group page for the young generation. They will try to create a buzz by using discussion topics, photos, and videos to get comments, likes, and movement on their page. They will then have to present and deliver their proposals and business plans to local and international judges.

Bermuda Buzz 6, which includes Kevina Davis, Kim Johnston, Tara Butterfield, Chelsea Raney, Jackie Tansil, Dave Thomas, and Adrian Woodley, are aiming to win the competition.

A teenage spokesperson for the group of ambitous students said, “Bermuda Buzz 6 is the group that is going to win the competition. With a team full of postive, outgoing youth who simply want to be heard and team leaders who are dedicated to making us shine, we will do exactly that. Our slogan is “spill your guts”, encouraging the youth of Bermuda to make their voice heard.”

“Our website will feature video’s from brave new voices, α Facebook picture competition, α R.I.P page (where young people can pay respect to the young ppl that died), funny video’s and much more. We will be going into the schools, getting word from the students. To access Bermuda Buzz 6 add us as α friend on your Facebook account. Be sure to like as much pictures, video’s and disscussions as possible. Comments are key, we want to hear you.”

The students have stressed that they are ‘Bermuda Buzz 6′, not any other group [Bermuda Buzz 1/2/3 etc]. If you wish to support these young people, you can do so by joining their Facebook group here. The ‘deadline’ is tomorrow, and the judges will select the winner based on their presentation, business plan and amount of Facebook fans.

These people are becoming to persistent and need to stop; all over facebook i am reading about people getting 100s of request from Bermuda buzz, this is not the right way to go about accomplishing your goal. Luckily i am not one of these and because of all these complaints if i am asked to join i will not. So i think i speak for all those annoyed by this, PLEASE ONLY ASK ONCE NOT 100 TIMES.
