Jimmy Keys To Perform Again in Bermuda

March 29, 2011

JK PictureJimmy Keys, a former regular on the Bermuda entertainment circle, will be heading back to Bermuda in May for a two night performance.

The event is a fundraiser for the Bermuda Hockey Federation [BHF], and will be held at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess on May 6th and May 7th, starting at 8pm. Tickets are available at www.bdatix.bm for $75 each.

Mr Keys lived and performed in Bermuda for a total of 13 years, after originally being booked for a one month contract in 1983 at the old Rams Head Pub on Front Street. He went onto perform at many places islandwide including Henry VIII, Golden Hind, Fairmont Southampton, and the Surf Club, leaving the island in early 2000.

My Keys said, “I am very much looking forward to returning once again to the island, and I will have some new routines for old fans that knew me a few years ago, plus we are hoping to attract some new people who have never seen my show before!”

“My show will feature a high energy act of music, comedy & visual impressions of numerous rock & pop stars from over the years, plus some local humor thrown in. Also I will feature some classic pieces from when I did shows in Bermuda.”

A BHF spokesperson said, “One of our members contacted the BHF’s Fundraising Committee several months back to suggest to us that we look to bring in Jimmy Keys for an event. It was not something that we had previously thought about, but thought it could be a great event as Jimmy still has a large following in Bermuda.”

“We contacted Jimmy right away and he expressed an interested. From there the planning began. We were successful with enticing Tony Brannon and Tony Cox to do an opening act for us. We feel this will start the evening off right.”

“We are really excited for the event and are hoping for it to be a big success. We want to thank Jimmy for coming back to Bermuda, Tony & Tony for doing the opening act, the Fairmont Hamilton Princess for all their assistance with getting the details in place, and bdatix.bm for all there help!”
