Taxi Owners/Operators To Meet With TARC

March 15, 2011

A meeting for taxi owners and operators will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Clearwater Middle School starting at 7 p.m.

A spokesperson said, “The Minister of Transport has assembled a Taxi Authority Review Committee [TARC] to determine if the island needs a Taxi Authority and meetings have been scheduled to gather input from industry stakeholders.”

“The first meeting was held on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Warwick Workmen’s Club. These meetings are intended to be fact finding meetings giving stakeholders a chance to provide input to assist the Committee in preparing their recommendations in a report to the Minister by the end of April 2011.”

“All persons are asked to come out to share their views on several main issues; if there is a need for a Taxi Authority and if they believe this could work for Bermuda’s taxi system and how they see such a Taxi Authority functioning among other recommendations.”
