Sailors Set Off To Compete in Chile
Four sailors and two officials from the Bermuda Optimist Dinghy Association left for Algarrobo, Chile to compete in the 2011 International Optimist Dinghy Association (IODA) South American Championships.
The youth sailors Antonio Bailey, Rory Caslin, Makai Joell and Chase Cooper qualified to attend the event via a series of trials staged late last year and early this year.Accompanying the team is Team Leader Leslie Caslin and High Performance Coach Zizi Staniul.
Team Bermuda will be joining approximately 200 other sailors in Algarrobo, a Chilean city in the San Antonio Province located on the country’s central coast. The regatta starts on April 14th and the team will have a number of days to acclimatize and practice for the event.
