April 19, 2011

water faucetThe Ministry of Public Works today [Apr.19] advised water trucking companies, central distribution customers and the general public that there may be a reduction in water service levels in Pembroke, Devonshire and Hamilton Parishes from Wednesday April 20th, 2011 through Saturday April 30th, 2011.

A Ministry spokesperson said, “The potential reduction is due to work being undertaken on the Tynes Bay Seawater Desalination plant in preparation for the expansion from the existing level of production from 500,000 Imperial gallons per day to 1,000,000 Imperial gallons per day.”

“This work will provide greater reliability in the operations of the existing facility and in turn provide for better service in the future.”

The Ministry would like to apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause and would like to thank customers and the public for their cooperation during this period.
