East End Primary Heritage Day Celebrations
East End Primary School started celebrating Heritage Day yesterday [May 23] with a day filled with learning and excitement.
The day started with each class sharing a story about Bermuda Heritage. Presentations were made in the assembly hall which was decorated with works of art displaying students’ perceptions on what Heritage Day means to them. Topics of interest included monuments, beaches, foods, forts, music and flowers.
Bermuda Heritage activities were held in the classrooms and the children then had their lunch break. The afternoon was filled with sports starting with a Stanley Burgess “mini” marathon on the school property. The day ended in a traditional game of cricket where the students and some teachers had turns at hitting a four or six.
