Kiera Aitken Wins Gold Medal In Spain

Kiera Aitken has won a Gold Medal in the Open Championship of Catalonia Absolute Swimming Trophy in Spain.

Ms Aitken recorded the fastest qualifying time in the Women’s 100 Long Course Meter Backstroke Preliminaries with a time of 1:04.42. In the finals, then lowered that time and clocked 1:03:59 to pick up the the Gold Medal.

Meanwhile three Bermudian swimmers are taking part in the 27th Annual Charlotte UltraSwim Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Competing in the Women’s 100 Long Course Meter Breaststroke Preliminaries, Lisa Blackburn clocked a time of 1:15.54 finishing 35th.

Meanwhile Julian Fletcher finished 39 competing in the Men’s 100 Long Course Meter Breaststroke Preliminaries clocking 1:09.90.

Bermuda’s other competitor is Roy-Allen Burch who is expected to take part tomorrow [May 14]
