Man Robbed At Knifepoint

Early yesterday morning [May 18], a 21-year-old Warwick man was robbed at knifepoint on Woodlands Road in Pembroke., after he was accosted by a man on a motorcycle while driving his car.

A Police spokesman said, “Around 2:55am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that earlier that morning the victim, a 21 year old Warwick man, was driving a car along Woodlands Road in Pembroke when he was accosted by an unknown man on an orange motorcycle.”

“The motorcyclist brandished a bladed article before making good his escape with the Warwick man’s wallet containing personal items. The victim was not injured. The suspect is believed to be a dark brown skinned male, approximately 5’10” tall wearing a white helmet, black shirt and black pants. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.”

An email circulating appears to pertain to this incident said the following, “Just wanted to let you all know what happen to a friend of mines son this morning. He was on his way home driving near BAA when a guy on a bike sped up cut directly in front of the car in the process he somehow banged the car.”

“He thought he had struck the guy, he said he was forced to slam breaks and stop the car. He said he put his head down on the steering wheel thinking oh no I struck him, he said as he pulled his head up and turned to get out of the car to see if the guy was ok, the individual stuck a knife to his throat demand his wallet, then proceed to ask him how much change was in the cars ashtray.”

“He gave him the wallet and emptied the change from the ashtray and the guy jumped on his bike and sped off.”
