Youth Library Poetry Competition Winners

Poetry has been called a light by which we may see life. And hundreds of Bermuda school students recently took advantage of a Youth Library contest to communicate their feelings on issues facing young people’s lives in verse.

After receiving more than 200 entries, the Teen Advisory Board of the Youth Library selected the winners of their annual Poetry Competition.

The contest was open to 13-to-18-year-olds from Middle and High Schools, and the themes were “My Life”, “The Future” and “Relationships”.

11-13 Age Group Winners:

  • 1st Place Adam Hall, Saltus Grammar School, Ipod Nano (6th Generation)
  • 2nd Place Jamison Percy, Saltus, $100 Gift certificate
  • 3rd Place Isabella Benson, Bermuda High School for Girls, $50 Gift certificate

14-18 Age Group Winners:

  • 1st Place Coravida Brangman, The Berkeley Institute, Ipod Touch (4th Generation)
  • 2nd Place Tabia Butterfield, Berkeley, $100 Gift certificate
  • 3rd Place Joeshe Miller, Berkeley, $50 Gift certificate
  • Wallis Caldoza, BHS, $50 Gift certificate
