Alleged Burglar Remanded In Custody

Durnel Smith, 28-years-old and said to be living at an address on My Lord’s Bay Lane in Hamilton Parish, pleaded not guilty to six counts of burglary and stealing and one count of attempted theft in Magistrates Court yesterday [June 2].

The various charges involved burglaries in Hamilton parish, Devonshire and Sandy’s, with Mr Smith alleged to have stolen jewelry and cash valued at over $15,000.

Mr Smith pleaded not guilty to all seven charges. His lawyer, Elizabeth Christopher, made no objection to the Crown’s request that bail not be granted, and Magistrate Archie Warner ordered that he should be remanded in custody until his next appearance, for mention, on 16th June
