Cornell Bean Wins BPGA Tour At Belmont Hills
Cornell Bean ended Dwayne Pearman’s run of wins on the Bermuda Professional Golf Association’s Jack Daniels Golf Tour with a fine 1-under par 69 at Belmont Hills Golf Course.
Bean’s 69 was good enough for the win, but Bean had visions of a better finish but an unfortunate Double Bogey on 18 ruined what would have been one of the lower scores on the Tour this year.
Bean’s round consisted of 5 Birdies 2 Bogeys and the Double Bogey. Pearman had to settle for second this week as his putter cooled off he had 3 Birdies, 3 Bogey for an even par round of 70 put him one behind Bean.
Third was Darriek Douglas who shot a 2-over par 72, Douglas had a disappointing front 9, making the turn 4-over par but he fought back on the tougher second 9 shooting 2-under 33. Fourth went to Brian Morris whose form has returned during the last few weeks to post another top 5 finish.
