Cordell Riley Elected: New CURB President
Cordell Riley has been elected by the Citizens Uprooting Racism in Bermuda [CURB] Central Council as President until the next Annual General Meeting.
Mr Riley has been a member of CURB for a number of years having worked on CURB’s Research Working Group and more recently on the Advocacy Working Group and Truth & Reconciliation Working Group.
Well known in the community, Mr Riley is Managing Director of Profiles of Bermuda, a company he founded in 1998. The firm conducts human resource assessments, training and development, as well as market and business research.
Mr Riley, a former government statistician, has authored numerous articles in the tourism and human resource fields and has spoken at a number of international conferences. He has an active interest in social justice/history; a subject which he is presently studying at the doctorate level.
Mr. Riley holds a Masters degree in Tourism Marketing [University of Surrey, England], a Bachelors in Hotel Management [Cum Laude, University of New Haven, Connecticut], and a Post Graduate certificate in Survey Sampling [University of Michigan, Ann Arbor]. Recently Mr. Riley became a Certified Cognitive Trainer Facilitator [National Curriculum Training Institute, USA] and holds certificates in Designing Instruction and Performance Consulting, among others.
CURB has also welcomed Cindy Steede-Williams as the CURB Administrator, and noted that she will be organizing the new CURB office located in the Bermudiana Arcade, 27 Queen Street, Hamilton.
Cindy Steede-Williams has been a volunteer and active CURB Central Council member for just over two years serving in the capacity of Secretary, Strategic Planning Working Group Chair and member of the Truth and Reconciliation Working Group.

When you say “Cordell Riley Elected”, don’t you really mean “Cordell Riley Appointed”?
I mean, there was no actual voting election for this, was there?
Not sure on specifics, however we used the word elected as that’s exactly what CURB said…he was elected.
For the sake of clarity, the position was available, I offered to take it on, those present at the Council meeting unanimously approved.
