Dept of Tourism Launches Bermuda iPhone App

The Bermuda Department of Tourism has launched a new iPhone application, the ‘Bermuda Travel & Vacation Guide.’

The free app, developed and built by iCrossing, allows vacation planners to access Bermuda’s most popular activities, sightseeing locations, golf courses, beaches, hotels, shops, restaurants and nightlife.

The app’s features include: a detailed map with built-in location finder, search for specific attractions, activities and places, browse with filters to find just what you’re looking for get, addresses, map locations and travel distances, sort by proximity or view in alphabetical order, find phone numbers and tap to call, save your favorite places for quick reference and share via Facebook, Twitter and email.

“Travelers often rely on their mobile devices to quickly access information about the places they are visiting,” said Director of Tourism William Griffith. “Our new Bermuda Travel & Vacation Guide app helps people discover what the island has to offer, and then share these experiences with others in their social networks.”

The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, requires iOS 4.2 or later, and can be downloaded here on iTunes.

    LOL … the screenshot shows a glassbottom boat company on Manse Road. I guess they don’t have to work about the Corporation’s 15 minute loading policy there! :)

    Glad Tourism is being innovative. Apps are great marketing tools.

    There is also another Tourism App from a local company, Go Explore Bermuda, that is FREE too. Might want to check them out. They have video and audio tours, GPS, event listings, ferry schedule among others… Visit http://www.GoExploreBermuda.com and download it.
