      • shamel says:

surely it proves more that the illegality of cannabis links it up to criminals who are drug dealers by trade and would be selling booze if it was illegal too…illegality: the gateway drug.

Now move the scum out if they are renting . Go through their financials and make sure that if they own the property , selling up would be the only option available to them in order to pay the staggering fine imposed .

  7. Cinderella says:

Cocaine causes sudden strokes, heart attacks, rotten teeth, loss of smell, and later on in life certain liver problems. People never get the same high that they got the first time.

Does that explain a few things about some people we see around here, or hear about “being so young to have …….”?

  8. Onion says:

  11. illuminati says:

keep it illegal but decriminalize possession/importation of small amounts. penalize large-scale importation and cultivation. trade in illegal drugs is a pillar of bermuda’s economy, no matter how much the so-called morally upright bermudian may condemn it in his rectitude.to fully decriminalize marijuana may or may not cause the profitability of the drug to decline.Nevertheless like it or not, these suppliers of illegal narcotics are supporting families and households and a move toward decriminalization without signifacant moves to address certain societal issues within these esteemed isles could have the opposite of its intended effect..

i think the suggestion above as perhaps more of a palatable scenario should bermudians ever seriously debate legalization and come to a conclusion.

personally, i am againgst prohibitition of marijuana. it has been absolutely useless and a gross waste of taxpayers money. furthermore we have to remember- the BERMUDA POLICE SERVICE does not write LAWS, it merely ENFORCES them, and laws are passed by our elected GOVERNMENT in the best interests of WE the people of BERMUDA. where is the political impetus for changing the laws as they stand, instead of attacking the BPS for doing the job they were sworn to do, or seeing young bermudian men and women confined to this island because they are on the stop list or incarcerated

-prohibititions increase the value of whatever is prohibited, depending on the demand for the prohibited item
