Hamilton Weekend Road Closures

The City of Hamilton today [July 15] announced that Church Street between Queen and Burnaby Streets will be closed on Saturday July 16 from 4pm to midnight.

The closure will facilitate the City of Hamilton’s sponsored Fashion Extravaganza which starts at 7pm in front of City Hall. Additionally, there is no parking from 4pm to midnight on Church Street between Queen and Burnaby Streets, in the cycle bays on Dismont Drive and behind City Hall.

The main City Hall Car Park will remain open with entrance and egress on Victoria Street and Wesley Street. Taxi bays will be relocated to the area of Church Street between Washington Street and Burnaby Street on both sides.

On Sunday July 17, from 6:30am to 9:00am, Reid Street will be closed between Parliament Street and Burnaby Hill. From 9:00am to 12noon Reid Street will be closed between Burnaby Hill and Queen Streets. This will facilitate a large crane being used in the area.

There will also be traffic delays on Church Street at Par-La-Ville Road due to trenching work taking place. Also on Sunday July 17, between 7:30am and 11:00am the Bermuda Bicycle Association Race will stage a pedal cycle race along the following roads:

  • Cedar Avenue from Victoria Street to Dundonald Street;
  • Dundonald Street from Cedar Avenue to Serpentine Road;
  • The Serpentine and Park Rd. roundabout to Park Road;
  • Park Road between the roundabout and Washington Street;
  • Washington Street between Park Road and Victoria Street;
  • Victoria Street between Washington Street and Cedar Avenue (the westbound lane along Victoria Street will remain operational).
