Handbag Snatched: 19-Yr-Old Female Arrested
A 19-year-old Pembroke woman was arrested yesterday [July 3] after a woman’s handbag was snatched while she was walking on Woodbourne Avenue.
The police said it is believed 3 or 4 men were also involved, however they managed to escape on foot.
A Police spokesman said, “Around 2:30am on Sunday, police responded to a reported robbery in the Woodbourne Avenue, Pembroke area.”
“It appears that two women were walking in the area when they were accosted by a group of unknown individuals.”
“One member of the unknown group snatched a handbag from one of the women, a 26 year old from Pembroke; however officers were quickly on the scene and arrested a 19 year old Pembroke woman in connection with the incident.”
“The victim was not injured. The other members of the group, believed to be three or four men, made good their escape on foot. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.”

Punish Her and make an example of her. I wonder if any of these other “men” will care enough to come forward and take the heat off of her.

Shame on her! She likes women’s handbags but would rather steal one than buy one and likes hanging with guys. Interesting! Since she wants to act like a thug, treat her like one and have no mercy on her!

Just shaking my head reading this. How sad this female lowered herself to this. You know she will face this alone as she doesn’t want to be labeled a ‘snitch’. Very sad.

I was just going to say that! Lol. Yup, put her under the jail if anything. The thing I notice now days is that the girls/women that hang out in these circles are more aggressive and likely to assualt someone than the boys/men are. I don’t know if it’s because they are female and feel they need to impress the men or what, but it’s ridiculous.
Seeing the responses here make me think of the three strikes you’re out policy from 2007 wonder if legislation like that would be a deterrent……………..

I have an idea, with the stockade at St. George’s, why not lock some people up in there for three, four days and as in years gone by have people ridicule and toss rotten vegetables at them? Bermuda, get serious with these thugs NOW. I believe that nothing brings a thug to reality as a little humiliation in front of his peeps.
I would say how would she feel if someone stole her purse but by the sounds of it she dont carry one. She hanging out with 4 men at 2:30 in the morning. Either she a twirker or she a tomboy. You know it’s bad when a woman steals another womans purse. Sad day.
