Pink Ferry Route Fare Increase Postponed

July 27, 2011

Today [July 27] a spokesperson for the Department of Marine and Ports, within the Ministry of Transport said, “The proposed fare increase on the Pink Route which was scheduled to take effect on Monday, August 1, 2011 will now be postponed to a later date to be announced. All passes that have been sold at the current price can be used on the Pink Route until further notice.”

Last month Minister of Transport Terry Lister announced that Government will be reinstating the weekend and holiday ferry service on the Paget/Warwick route starting on June 27th, after ferry routes had been reduced in April of this year due to “budgeting constraints”. A fare increase on that route to help offset the operational costs was due to take effect on 1st August.

Could it be that Government has finally figured out that this was a stupid, assinine, idiotic, foolish, brainless, retarded, action to take? I wonder if they had to pay some foreign axpert millions of dollars to tell them what a-holes they were for trying to charge twice as much to take a trip from harbour road to tarn as it costs to take a trip from Dockyard to StG. These small, efficient, gas sipping ferries were to cost twice as much per trip as EB’s gas guzzlers going ten times as far.

Anyone with a first grade education could figure this out. Government Ministers? No way. Gotta make a big deal out of it.

If this issue shows the level of intelligence in the house on the hill – then we are in deep doodoo. With such a low level of competence running our country – anyone who votes YET AGAIN for these circus folk – are as idiotic themselves.

They are carnies – all of them!!! A frickin side show. Should be there along with the bearded lady and elephant man. Not fit to run a faucet.
