Road Closure: Entrance To St. David’s

The Ministry of Public Works this evening [July 8] issued an advisory for St. David’s residents advising of a road closure.

A Ministry spokesperson said, “A malfunction in a switch at the asphalt plant has resulted in workmen being unable to complete road work on the old road leading into St. David’s as expected.”

“As a result, this stretch of road is off-limits to vehicular traffic and will be closed throughout the weekend. Motorists entering St. David’s are being re-routed through Southside Road.”

A Ministry spokesman apologized for any inconvenience this may cause, but said the problem with the asphalt machine is expected to be rectified over the weekend and road works will  resume on Monday morning.
