Video: Junior Cyclists Return With Five Medals
The Bermuda Bicycle Association’s 2011 Junior Caribbean Cycling Championship team arrived last night [Aug.15] at the LF Wade International Airport to a heroes welcome.
The teenage cyclists won an impressive five medals – including three Golds. The medal total exceeds Bermuda’s all time medal total in the event since inception, which stood at four prior to 2011.
The eight member team competed in a time trial and a road race taking on the best riders 15-18 years old from 16 countries in the region.
The Bermuda team of Dominique Mayho, Tre-shun Correia, Vashon Cann, Mark Godfrey, Daelan Richardson, Deshi Smith, Gabriella Arnold and Molly Pilgrim all represented the island well.
Dominique Mayho and Molly Pilgrim are the 2011 Junior Caribbean Cycling Championship Male and Female Road Race Champions, while Molly Pilgrim also won the girls time trial Gold medal. Gabriella Arnold captured the girls time trial and road race bronze medals as well.
