Photos: Bermuda Lose To MCC

In their first match-up played yesterday [Sept.25] at the National Sports Centre, Bermuda lost to MCC by 56 runs [MCC 146/5 Bermuda 90/8]

MCC batted first in their first tour match of 2011 to Bermuda, opener Chris Thompson batted through the innings scoring 85 not out as MCC scored 146/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Josh Knappett added 15, Damali Bell had bowling figures of 4-0-39-2 for Bermuda, while Sammy Robinson bowled 4-1-17-1.

In reply Bermuda was restricted to 90/8 in their allotted 20 overs, David hemp was the top scorer with 40, while Fiqre Crockwell added 14 before being run out. Andy Birley led the MCC bowling attack with figures of 4-0-19-2, while Craig Wright bowled 4-0-21-2.

Before the tour started, National Coach, David Moore said, “The MCC tour will be a wonderful opportunity for the National squad members to challenge themselves. The MCC squad is a high quality opposition that includes International, First Class and Second XI cricketers that will test our players skills and tactical knowledge. Such opposition can only lead to an improvement of our players and the team as a whole.”
