Man Charged: Threatening Girlfriend’s Mother

September 14, 2011

In Magistrates Court this morning [Sept.14], Pelealkhali Williams was given a three month prison sentence, suspended for twelve months, after he pleaded guilty to a charge of using threatening words to the mother of his girlfriend, but not guilty to a second charge of using threatening words to his girlfriend. The DPP told Senior Magistrate Archie Warner that the DPP would let the second charge ‘lie on the file’.

The DPP’s evidence was that on Monday 12th September, in Pembroke, Mr Williams and his girlfriend were having an altercation in the yard at his girlfriend’s house.

His girlfriend’s mother drove in, saw Mr Williams kicking at the back wheel of her daughter’s motorcycle, and believed that Mr Williams was about to strike her daughter. The DPP’s evidence continued saying that the girl’s mother drove her car at Mr Williams.

Continuing, the DPP’s evidence was that Mr Williams had then told the mother that he was going to “blow you up”… “shoot you or get someone else to shoot you”….and “I’ll bust your head open with this stick.”

Police were called and attended. They arrested Mr Williams who was still in Police custody when he appeared this morning.

Mr Williams, unrepresented and speaking in his own defence, admitted that he had been angry. In a long statement, he said, in part: “Every night I sleep at that house. I was sick and upset. I didn’t kick her tyre and her Momma came into the yard and tried to run me over.”

He went on to say: “I am over there invited. Her daughter is 26 years old. If she doesn’t want me over there she can tell me. Her Momma threatened me and I never did nothing wrong. I did tell her I’d blow up her house.”

Magistrate Warner, having heard Mr Williams defence told him: “In all that rambling just now, you admitted that you did threaten her mother. She thought you were threatening her daughter.”

The Magistrate considered Mr Williams prior offences for using threatening words, causing willful damage, and violently resisting arrest all of which concerned the same family relationship.

The Magistrate said that he was taking into consideration the special circumstances of the ongoing relationship and conflict between the mother, the daughter, and Mr Williams. With that, the Magistrate ruled that he would impose a three month jail sentence suspended for twelve months.

Mr Williams could be seen gesticulating and crumbling up the Court papers as he was led back into Police custody before being released.

This story reminds me of a story I know all too well. Mine. The girlfriend needs to run away as fast as she can….far from this dude. If he has no respect for her mother, how can he possibly have respect for her? I thought I was going to read that the girlfriend was in her early twenties or late teens. But no, she’s 26. Old enough to know she is in a bad situation. The mother needs to tell her if she continues to see this dude, she can do so in her own apartment/house!

  3. WTH???? says:

Wait she is 26 i thought she was younger then that since he is only 22 they way they told the story. Girls like her making these lil boys think they are man cause she sitting up there letting him disrespect her mother like that. Better yet ace girl your old enough to move out of your mothers house.

So someone can attempt to run you over, but words can land you in court? He said he would blow up the house, not the mother. I am sorry, but if you try to run me over, there wil be no words.

There is obviousy a pattern here and the mother acted on instinct. The boy has probably laid his hands on her daughter before. He has obviously acted out before…all concerning the same family. This is a hostile relationship. But you know what? The more I think about it, the more I think something is wrong with the girlfriend. SMDH

I agree with you on all that you have stated, but he used words and she used a car, yet he is in court. Be honest, if someone tried to run you over, what would you have done or said?

        • Chocolate Syrup says:

Honestly, I don’t know. But if I see a loved one about to be harmed in some way, I’ll do all I can to prevent it. The mother was already in the car and instinct took over. It’s not as if she came out of the house and jumped in her car. She clearly acted out of panic. But, that’s just my opinion.

He’s probably a big fan of Vybz Kartel and Lil Wayne….being disrespectful to women is only normal for this loser….the girlfriend is to dumb to realize….

she probably watched or still watches a lot of Sponge Bob Square Pants.

  7. Lissa says:

The mother needs to get a restrining order agianst this kid – if its her property.
this boy has no respect. If the mother doesnt want him there than he shouldnt be there. The daughter needs to move and get her on place and stop putting her mother in harms way.
