[Updated] Yesterday [Sept.27] Henry Bellingham, Minister for Overseas Territories, was given a guided tour of St. George’s by the Mayor of St. George’s Kenneth Bascome and Town Crier David Frith. He was accompanied by Governor Sir Richard Gozney, UBP Leader Kim Swan, Minister of Education Dame Jennifer Smith and others.

He was also given a guided tour of Cooper’s Island by Minister of Environment, Planning and Infrastructure Strategy Walter Roban and others.
The purpose of the tour was to provide Minister Bellingham with an idea of what Bermuda intends to offer as part of its possible Space Enterprise Zone. Currently, the European Space Agency is setting up a transportable tracking station at the site of the former NASA tracking station at Cooper’s Island and the tour provided the perfect opportunity for Minister Bellingham to see the work in progress.
