The Bermuda Driving Harness Pony Racing 2011/12 Season got underway on Sunday [Sept.25] at the National Equestrian Centre on Vesey Street.

In the season’s first race Colin Mello in the bike of Big Red Machine finished first in a time of 1:06.3 in the 1:04/1 and Faster Class, Captain Progress with Jason Lopes in the bike finished second with a time of 1:07, while Abbey’s Dream with EJ Carreiro and Brona’s Mike with Kirista Rabain both finished with the same time of 1:07.2.

In the 1:07/2 to 1:08/2 Class Colonel’s Finest with Arnold Manders clocked a time of 1.25/1 to finish ahead of Pretty Boy’s Magic with Arthur Hurst clocking 1.26/1 and Don’t Skipa Beat finished third with Chad Sutherland in the bike clocking 1.30/2.
