Go Explore Bermuda, a local company under The Ultra Concepts Group of Companies (UCG) was awarded the Technology Innovation Award for the Best Local Mobile Application at the annual Tech Awards ceremony held at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on the evening of Thursday 13th October 2011.
Despite facing stiff competition from the Bermuda Department of Tourism and other applications, the esteemed panel of judges voted Go Explore Bermuda the winner of the coveted award.
‘Go Explore Bermuda’ is a free location based multimedia electronic tour guide application compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and android operating smartphones and tablet devices. Go Explore Bermuda is officially the best way to locate all the exciting attractions, restaurants, hotels, and beaches around the island.
You can even access local events, discounts and general information such as bus and ferry schedules. Additionally, users can explore and learn about Bermuda with video, audio, photos, and GPS navigation. Easy-to-follow directions guide users to their destination in the shortest possible time enhancing the Bermuda experience.
Soft launched on May 13, 2011, to date the application has been used over 11,500 times to access tours, attractions, and information about Bermudian businesses.
