Philippe: ‘Potential Threat’ To Bermuda

The Bermuda Weather Service [BWS] said that Tropical Storm Philippe is a ‘potential threat’ to Bermuda, and its closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 341 nautical miles to the south-east at 6pm on Wednesday [Oct.5].

Hurricane Ophelia, the fourth hurricane of the 2011 season, passed approximately 120 nautical miles to the east of Bermuda yesterday [Oct.1], and the island experienced minimal effects.
