Photos: Police Week Seniors Tea

October 6, 2011

On Tuesday [Oct.4] the Bermuda Police Service held a Seniors Tea as part of the Police Week 2011 celebrations. The event recognized the island’s senior citizens, and was well attended. Those gathered were served by police officers and support staff while enjoying food, music by Mr. Gene Steede and his band, as well as prizes won by correctly answering trivia questions from Station Duty Officer Linda Mienzer.

Detective Sergeant Tirena Rollins of the Crime Prevention Unit gave the audience a presentation on how to decrease their chances of becoming a victim of crime by securing their homes better and being vigilant for any suspicious individuals or activity in their neighbourhoods.

In addition, the Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva, Assistant Commissioner of Police Paul Wright, Superintendent Antoine Daniels and Superintendent James Howard took time out of their schedules to spend time meeting and talking with the visiting seniors.”
