The Bermuda Police Service held its annual Police Sports Day as part of Police Week 2026, bringing officers together for a day of sporting activities, friendly competition and camaraderie, with representatives from the Royal Bermuda Regiment, Customs and Department of Corrections joining the Police.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] hosted its annual Sports Day on Thursday, October 8, 2026, as part of the Police Week 2026 celebrations under the theme “Together in Service, United in the Community.”
“The day commenced at 9:00am with a 5K Run/Walk that attracted approximately 93 participants from across the Bermuda Police Service and several partner agencies. Representatives from the Royal Bermuda Regiment [RBR], His Majesty’s Customs, and the Department of Corrections joined BPS personnel and support staff in the event, demonstrating a shared commitment to health, wellness, and interagency collaboration.
“The morning activity provided an excellent opportunity for members of the participating organizations to engage in friendly competition while strengthening professional relationships outside of their normal working environments.
“Later in the day, attention turned to an exciting Xtreme Sports competition involving members of the BPS, RBR, Customs, and Corrections. Eight teams competed in a series of challenging events designed to test communication, strategy, and teamwork.
“The competition showcased the importance of cooperation, trust, and effective collaboration, qualities that are essential to the daily work performed by each participating agency in service to the Bermuda community.
“The Sports Day activities provided an excellent opportunity for our officers, support staff and our partner agencies to come together in a positive and engaging environment. Events such as these strengthen relationships, build teamwork, and reinforce the spirit of cooperation that is critical to serving our community effectively. We thank all participants and organizers for making the day a success.
“The day served as a fitting reflection of the Police Week 2026 theme, highlighting the strong partnerships that exist between Bermuda’s public service organizations and the communities they serve.”
