Rapper KD Raises The “Bar” In New Video

October 29, 2011

Bermudian rapper K.D. Da Beast is fast becoming the island’s latest musical phenomenom, with his latest on-line music video “I’m At The Bar” drawing hundreds of views in the days since its release.

K.D. Da Beast [born Khaalid Lovell] has been writing, composing and recording his own music for three years and while still a rookie performer, he has taken advantage of Twitter, YouTube and other forms of social media to launch his career.

“If we had put a label on his style, we’d say he’s a little East Coast lyrical hip hop with some Bermudian flava — but this is the type of talent that can’t be named,” he said

K.D. describes himself as being in the “progression stage”. He is honing his skills and working on making hit records. He may have started out by performing in the shower (so many of us do) but his defining musical moment was an overwhelming response to his first official track, “Do Ya Dance”.

He hopes that within the next five years he will either be signed to a major label or signed with a partnership deal.

The “I’m At The Bar” video was filmed and directed by Bermuda’s Fotogenik.
