T&T Footballers Arrive Via Air Jamaica
[Updated with video] The Trinidad National Football Team – Bermuda’s opponents for Friday’s World Cup qualifier football match – arrived in Bermuda yesterday afternoon [Oct.2]. An Air Jamaica plane flew the team directly to Bermuda, with the team scheduled to fly back to Trinidad on Saturday.
Bermuda will take on Trinidad & Tobago this coming Friday [Oct.7] at 8:00pm. Bermuda’s first match-up against Trinidad and Tobago was held in Port of Spain on September 2nd, with Bermuda losing 1 -0. They then played Guyana on September 6th, losing 2 – 1, with Bermuda’s goal scored by Khano Smith.
TT assistant coach Anton Corneal said, “Bermuda have never been an easy team when they play us and they are home where they are faced with a must win situation so we expect that they will come at us with everything. But once we prepare well and we play to plan, then the rest will take care of itself.”
W Connection defender Mekeil Williams is the lone uncapped player named in an 18-man squad by Soca Warriors coach Otto Pfister for this country’s next two 2014 CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers away. Williams is also one of eight players in the team that will be playing under the German-born coach for the first time.
Good Luck to them all.
Nice pic….I wonder if we can lease a 737 and put a BDA logo in it
That would be cool we can call it Gombey001 as a callsign.
The Trinidad Government actually own Air Jamaica for those who didn’t know.
Actually Air Jamaica is owned by the Jamaican Government, sister airline Carribean Airlines is based in Trinidad. Know you facts before posting malarky.
@skulduggewry you should know your facts before you post he is right trinidad govenment brought air jamaica in may 2011 it is now based in trinidad….so you should now now your facts before posting malarky…
Yes, my facts are correct Mr Skulduggery! Too Bad you can’t erase your silly reply.
Caribbean Airlines owns at least 85% of Air Jamaica shares. So I agree with mixitup.
Actually Skulduggery, Trinidad & Tobago does own air jamaica. The bought then out last year with the deal finalised earlier this year. AJ and CAL crew work both types of aircrafts. If u look carefully u will see CAL logo on the underbelly of d aircraft.
T&T have the money to put there team in all tournaments and fly them priavtely on a charted AIR Jamaica plane…..wow Bermuda, we never did that for out team and now that the sports budget will be cut, soon every player will be selling cookies and cupcakes to fund there way to any sporting event. Good Luck boys…..when you start winning games, some day you can rent of American Airlines to fly the team all over the world, but until then…….dont hold your breath.
So hmm if Air jamaica can fly here, why have it never been an option to open the airport to other Caribbean flights? Why does the USA, UK and Canada have a monopoly?
Remember when British Airways used to fly from Jamaica to Bermuda then continue to the U.K.? There was more weed than luggage on that plane.

Try and get your own airline, yes Jamaica has shears in Air Jamaica and guess what we were hurt when the Prime Minister sold most of it but thank god he is gone one day Trinidad will give it back. Stop talking about it leave Air Jamaica alone think about the game on Friday.
