BFIS Hosts Intern Programme Reception

The Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies [BFIS] in conjunction with Associate Director of the Katie School of Insurance and Financial Services at Illinois State University [ISU] Debbie Babcock last night [Nov. 29] held a cocktail reception to thank all the people and companies who hosted the BFIS/ISU Intro-To-Insurance Summer Interns Programme.

Held at Hamilton’s Alterra House, courtesy of Alterra Capital Holdings, a BFIS spokesman said the event was attended by industry professionals of all levels who had given their time, knowledge and support to the undergraduate interns in May/June this year.

Established by leaders of Bermuda’s insurance industry in 1996, BFIS is tasked with ensuring that Bermudian students are provided with opportunities to attain the education and training necessary for careers in Bermuda’s insurance industry.
This is being achieved through scholarships, mentoring, internships and career guidance
