Boren Named EVP At Ironshore
Joseph Boren has been named the new executive vice president of Ironshore Insurance Holdings the company announced today [Dec. 22] as the Bermuda-based specialty property/casualty insurance coverage writer continues to expand its operations.
He has also been tapped to serve as president of US field operations.
Previously, Mr. Boren had served as chief executive officer of Ironshore Environmental.
In his new roles, Boren will oversee distribution strategies for Ironshore’s US domestic businesses. He also will continue to manage Ironshore’s marketing, strategic broker relations, specialised risk solutions, and mergers and acquisitions transactions for Ironshore and remain chairman of Ironshore Environmental.
John O’Brien, currently president of Ironshore environmental, will assume responsibility from Mr. Boren as CEO of Ironshore Environmental who held that position for three years. Steven England will be executive vice president of wholesale distribution.
The A.M. Best financial news service said the executive staff reshuffle comes on the heels of a major Ironshore expansion in recent months.
In June, the company opened a branch office in London. At the time, the company said the office in London will enable Dublin-domiciled Ironshore Europe Ltd. to expand its presence within the European insurance market.
Ironshore, which had $1.19 billion in gross written premium last year, has 18 offices and a global staff of 455.
