Chewstick Marks Ninth Anniversary
An all-star line-up of Bermuda talent will be on hand at City Hall next month to help the Chewstick Foundation mark its ninth anniversary.
The January 7 celebrations will begin with an opening reception in the City Hall Foyer with a showcase highlighting Chewstick’s bright, accomplished, dynamic and promising talents starting at 8 pm.
“An eclectic mix of dance, poetry, storytelling, rapping, and musical interludes has been compiled that is guaranteed to please everyone,” said a Chewstick spokesman. “After the show Gombeys will engage the crowd and lead the way back to the Chewstick facility on the corner of Elliot Street and Court Street where the DJs will takeover and the dancing will begin.”
Among the acts confirmed to appear at the City Hall extravaganza are Marq Rodriguez, Stephan Johnstone, Krystal Smith, Emma Keane, Tenae Hassell, Makeem ‘Haz’ Bartley, King Somn’er, Imari Wade, Kavon Kyree Buzby, Haile Maryam, Angela Ming Bean, Kevina-Lorae’ Davis, Tan Zaoui, Spring Flower, Davaughn Raynor, Joy T. Barnum, Jahroy Richards, Sharla Cavonne, Jermaine DeSilva, Tiffany Fox, Deidra Lee, Jasmine Hendrickson, Finote Hiwot, Kase Neo Griot, Scarlet Thomas, Francesca Elizabeth, Jason Clarke, Yung Mack, Matthew A. Johnston and Lynns Niece.

Tickets for the ninth Anniversary Celebrations will be sold for $30 [General] and $100 [Patron] and are available between 9am to 5pm at Kit & Caboodle, Rock Island Coffee and the Chewstick Headquarters on Court Street.
