December 20, 2011

A 21-year-old man – who cannot be named for legal reasons – pleaded not guilty to four charges of accessing child pornography in Magistrates Court this morning [Dec.20].

One alleged offence was said to have taken place on 23rd May 2011, the remaining three were alleged to have occurred on 6th July 2011.

He was represented by defence lawyer Elizabeth Christopher who suggested that there were new and interesting legal and technological matters involved. Senior Magistrate Archie Warner set aside two full days, 9th and 10th April 2012, for trial.

  1. Not Again! says:

As a parent I would like to know the names of these people who are preying on our children. I say print the names!

    • all clogged up says:

I’m not defending this guy cuz children are off limits period. But at what age does a child become ‘legal’? 16 is legal here, but in the states they’ll lock my azz up for messing with a minor. also who determins that the online pics are that of a 14 year old, where in actual fact she may be a very youthful 18 yr old…..even still the guy’s intent was not to look at a very youthful 18 yr old so he’s screwed either way (no pun intended). Playin it safe, If she ain’t riding a ‘blue plate’ scooter, she ain’t legal.

      • Notorious says:

Um…I’m going to be nice, they have specific ways of knowing how and what he was looking at and if he entered specific search terms. Pretty sure they didn’t pull him in because they saw that he was watching a “very youthful 18 year old”. You’re right leave all young girls alone.

  2. doomed says:

So….how do they know he was accessing child porn? Was this at his home? Is Big Brother watching us all?

    • james S says:

Usually a family member will report seeing it on his computer. The Police also get reports from foreign agencies showing that users from a specific IP address accessed CP at a specific time and date. So yes big brother does watch.

  3. GetLikeMe says:

If he’s guilty, the inmates are gonna love him.

  4. Can't Take It Anymore says:

So why doesn’t big brother just shut down the so-called child porn websites and put an end to it all? I may be reaching out on a limb here, but wouldn’t that make more sense? And if big brother is watching all the sites instead of closing them to see who access them so they can arrest them, isn’t that entrapment??
