Man Pleads Guilty To Resisting Arrest

December 28, 2011

25-year-old Temasgan Furbert appeared in Magistrates Court today [Dec.28] and was fined $1,000 after pleading guilty to resisting arrest.

The incident – which saw a police officer’s finger dislocated and the taser used – happened on Boxing Day [Dec.26]

The court heard that police were called to a home in Pembroke, with the female occupant saying her ex-boyfriend was refusing to leave the property.

Police officers found Mr Furbert in the basement, and after Mr Furbert was told to leave by the police, he became aggressive and officers tasered him. Prior to officers using a taser to subdue him, one police officer was injured, suffering a dislocated finger.

And yup . !! The working man has to continually pay !

    • Allaboutme says:

You know his name NOT his story…tired of Bermudian’s being so small minded and judgemental, who are you to criticise?

      • Look at the facts says:

Mr. Furbert deserves every judgement. He was fated to be a repeat offender. I know him personally, he is a troublesome individual. Just to let you know.

      • BTW says:

We can’t keep using our history or past circumstances as justification for poor decisions. At some point, each of us has to decide whether to allow our past to continue to determine who we are and what we do or whether to re-write our story. We don’t have to be chained to our past, we can choose to be different.

        • BTW says:

WOW !! Someone is actually saying that we shouldn’t judge people by there past !!!!!

And I bet your one of the First to Put Down WHITE PPL due to the Slave Days !! inna !! GTFOH !!

Didn’t mean to go to skin color but I’m talking REAL Here !!!

and 2nd March 2010 isn’t that long ago that he committed a crime. Maybe if he would have done heavy time for that Knife Possession , he probably wouldn’t be resisting arrest over the holiday.

oh did I forget to mention that a few guys jumped him too ?? HMPH !! Wonder why that happened !!! ..

      • OMG says:

He is just RUDE, did he not learn anything from what happened to him. And don’t use that as an excuse to justify what he did or is doing….

      • andre says:

Does “his story” make it OK to do whatever he wants?

      • SMDH says:

Are you serious is name and his story is the same…Bottom line your EX-GIRLFRIEND does NOT want you in her house where you do not live and or pay bills so leave……Its everyones right to an opinion hence why we are allowed to view them on this and other news sites..If he wrote a book or offered his “story” then we would have different views on him but for now all we know is what we read so WISE UP

  2. Triangle Drifter says:

But, but, but, didn’t his mother say that this time he has found the Lord & really really turned his life around?

It is time to have a chain gang for these guys. Put them to work cleaning the streets. They cost us what $80K to keep them comfortably housed & in good health?

    The insanity has to stop.

  3. Rick Rock says:

I can’t help noticing that when an expat gets in this type of situation the charge is always Assault, for which the sentences are more serious. When it’s one of our local young men in a similar situation the charge routinely used is Resisting Arrest, which carries a more lenient range of sentences.

In this case it’s even worse. He has a record of violence and still gets a slap on the wrist.

    Beyond belief isn’t it.

  4. Cancer says:

Allaboutme… Your way off base on this one. Stop making excuses for these guys.. Your probably one of those people that say “not my son – he was a good boy”

  5. The Hell says:

I’m not condoning the actions of these idiots but do the Police have to use the tazer on every person that resists arrest.I can understand if they have some sort of weapon in there hand. SMH!!

    • bermyboy says:

That shows that you do not understand the benefits of taser use do you realise that by using a taser you are less likely to cause injury to the suspect as well as the officers involved then if you didnt. Think about it if you are fighting with someone the risk of some sort of injury wether it be minor (bumps and abrasions) or major ( cuts or broken bones) is high however if you use the taser yes it hurts like hell but there is no lasting effects except maybe your memory of the pain it caused. Also if you dont want to be tased follow officers instructions and dont fight police simple. People need to realise police are not out there to be someones punching bag its their job to arrest persons who are breaking the law with as little physical contact as possible.

      • The Hell says:

That goes to show you don’t understand how soft the Police are and someone is gonna die one day because of the use of a Tazer

        • bermyboy says:

So because police dont want to be physically injured doing their job they are ‘soft’? Really!!! To your second point ill repeat if you dont want to be tased do what the rest of us law abiding citizens do and follow police instructions and dont fight end of story!

      • SMDH says:

THANK YOU geesh…..wats wrong with you people one minute the police/government to lenient the nest they are aggressive gosh make up your damn minds

  6. Cancer says:

Well said bermyboy! The hell…. Well do you need to be told where to go?

    • BABS says:

Please let’s not forget WHY he got tasered. He was refusing to leave his EX girlfriends home!!!!!Serves him right I say!!!!
