Motocross Gets Early Christmas Gift

December 9, 2011

Bermuda Motocross Association President Jonathan Trott yesterday [Dec.8] gave an update on the track work being done at the Southside Motorsport Park. Correia Construction have stepped in to assist the ailing club and are going to sponsor the improvements to the track at Southside.

The Motocross season has been delayed in starting because of plans to redesign the track. The association ran short on funds and progress on the newly designed track came to a standstill.

Correia Construction boss Dennis Correia heard of the association’s dilemma and sought to speak with Mr. Trott. Correia Construction has committed to undertake the rebuilding of the race track and this will save the Motocross Association an estimated $25,000.

Work has already begun with trucks seen delivering material to the site. Mr. Trott says he hopes work will be complete by the new year and expects the season to start in mid-January.

An election is coming. Buying votes are we? $25,000 is cheap compared to the the broken down new dock overun.

Regardless about a dock overun…overuns are normal in the construction industry. But im almost sure(99.9%) that this is not about politics. This is definately about helping one of Bermudas most family oriented sports to get back on their feet. My hats off to Dennis and his crew. He will surely be blessed for his contributions.
