December 21, 2011

Bermuda’s Sullivan Phillips has been named the Eurobasket.com “Player of the Week” for round 21.

The 32-year-old professional basketball player is coming off his latest game which saw him lead his Slovakian team in scoring, assists and steals as they beat Nova Ves 92-87.

“Phillips turned to be Prievidza’s top player in his first season with the team,” said Eurobasket. ”The Washington Adventist University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Phillips is in the league’s top in assists [4th best: 5.5apg] and averages solid 2.1spg and 56.5% FGP.”

One of the top basketball players the island has ever produced, Mr Phillips has played in England, Hungary, Czech Republic and Cyprus; and signed with the BC Prievidza of the Slovakia Men’s National Basketball League earlier this year.
