Premier Celebrates Senior’s Birthday

Premier Paula Cox visited King Edward Memorial VII Hospital’s Extended Care Unit yesterday [Dec. 21] to wish 90-year-old Mr. Eugene Burcher-Sabree, a happy birthday and the very best for the Christmas Season.

Mr. Burcher-Sabree, was in high spirits and warmly greeted Premier Cox, informing her he knew her father, late Finance Minister Eugene Cox.

On the occasion of his birthday and in keeping with the holiday spirit, the Premier presented Mr. Burcher-Sabree with a Christmas themed pillow, a basket of fruit and a bouquet of flowers.

Just before completing her visit, the Premier offered words of thanks to Mr. Burcher-Sabree and his daughter, Mrs. Judith Brewster.

Also in attendance was Bermuda Hospital’s Board Acting CEO Mrs. Venetta Symonds, Mrs. Kereen Richards, Director of Long Term Care and Activities Coordinator, Ms. Capri Smith.
