Police ID Man: Michael Wilkinson
The police have confirmed the identity of the gentleman found in St George’s yesterday [Jan.7] as 57-year-old Michael Wilkinson, who lived on a boat in the St. George’s area. An autopsy is anticipated, however the police said his death does not appear to be suspicious.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 57 year old Michael Wilkinson of St. George’s.
“It appears that around 11am on Saturday, January 7th a member of the public discovered Mr. Wilkinson’s lifeless body floating in waters near the Swing Bridge in St. George’s. He apparently lived on a boat in the area.
“The Marine Unit and Forensic Support Unit attended the scene and conducted inquiries. As a result, there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances; however an autopsy is anticipated.
“The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Wilkinson.”
