Rider Arrested For DUI After Striking Wall

On Friday afternoon [Jan.6] a 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after smashing his auxiliary cycle into a wall in Sandys.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 3pm on Friday, January 6th police and first responders attended a single vehicle collision in the Somerset Road, Scotts Hill Road Sandys parish area. It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling in the area when it collided with a wall.

“The rider, a 55 year old Sandys parish man, received relatively minor injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are underway.”
