Motorcyclist Strikes Parked Truck
Yesterday morning [Feb.16] a 21 year old man was hospitalized after he crashed into a parked truck at the airport.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 9:15am on Wednesday February 15th, police and first responders attended a reported collision on Cahow Way in St. George’s between a motorcycle and a parked truck.
“It appears that the motorcycle was travelling along Cahow Way when it collided with the truck which was parked outside a terminal at the L.F. Wade International Airport. The motorcycle was extensively damaged.
“The rider, a 21 year old Warwick man was injured and conveyed to KEMH via ambulance. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. He is currently in stable condition.
“Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact PC Mark Tomlinson at Southside Police Station on 293-2222.”

And he hits where it is what amounts to a 3 lane one way road. Gotta hear this one when he explains it to the judge.
I thought no vehicles are suppose to be parked there “anyvay” in my Bermudian voice.
Now blame the truck. Use your Bermudian eyes. Don’t you see the Loading Zone markings? Look at where it happened. What if just a few yards beyond there were departing visitors?

Surely an incursion of this magnitude would warrant deployment of the Emergency Services Camper (oh, I mean ‘Command Center’). Honestly BPS, get the prioritization right, will ya?

Maybe he was trying to make out the telephone number on the back of the truck to call in. They should change the sign from How’s my Driving to “How’s your Reading”
