Nova’s Database Management Service
Nova Limited, a Bermuda-based software development and IT consultancy company, is launching a new database management service and invites you to a free training and education session about Database Management and Business Intelligence to find out more.
While working with customers and prospects, it became apparent to Nova that while there were experienced database administrators working within Bermuda-based companies, and also third parties offering these services, there was a gap in the market.
Sandra De Silva, Managing Director and Chief Architect at Nova explains, “A company’s database is incredibly important to them; whether it be the continuous access required for employees to do their job or the intelligence the management team require from it. It’s critical that it’s always available.
“As employees are working longer hours and high availability is increasingly important, it has put a significant stretch on internal resources to meet this demand. In many cases this routine maintenance has taken time away from more strategic database projects.”
Nova decided to fill this gap in the market and after extensive research decided to partner with Gartner awarding winning company dbaDIRECT, to deliver a wide range of superior, cost effective, infrastructure service solutions.
Ms De Silva sees the Nova approach as different to others already in the market; “Many companies already have internal resource so don’t need a full service and support contract. We’re happy to offer as little as 5 hours a month to remove the routine jobs and free up this valuable resource.
“Better still, we can offer these hours 24×7 to ensure systems are always running. Equally, we have an extensive team of experienced database administrators so we can support or run large projects when internal resource is stretched or lacking the necessary experience.”

For this reason they’ve chosen to hold a launch event in conjunction with Microsoft which will review the ever growing volume and complexity of business data and the growing need to control and do more with it. The event is being held in Hamilton on Tuesday 6th March and repeated again on Wednesday 7th March in order to meet demand.
