Two Men Deny Robbing Disabled Man

February 9, 2012

Two men were remanded in custody this morning [Feb.9] after pleading not guilty in Magistrates Court to robbing a man who was said to be partially disabled.

30-year-old Andre Tucker and 25-year-old Treadwell Smith both pleaded not guilty to a charge of using force to carry out the robbery, with the victim said to be an unemployed partially disabled man.

The charge alleged that the two men, who had both been arrested at a bar, had acted with others who were not before the Court.

The alleged offence was said to have occurred in Pembroke earlier this month. The complainant was said to have had a credit card, a Marketplace card, and $40 in cash taken from him. The total value of all items was said to be $125.

After past records were taken into account, Senior Magistrate Archie Warner rejected both men’s request that they be bailed and given electronic monitoring devices.

The Senior Magistrate ordered that the two men should be held in custody until a re-appearance for Mention on 23rd February 2012.

. Now disabled ppl…shows how much of a pu*** you can get. Hopefully the courts follow through instead of just letting cases die down and nothing happens.

  3. Disgusted says:

What cowards! Targeting disabled individuals now, I hope these two cowards are taught a good lesson by the judicial system if convicted!

SHAME ON YOU! IGNORANCE IS A BLITZ!
    Think about it!!!!!!!
If your parents were disabled and this happened to them, how would you feel?

    SENTENCE IF CONVICTED:
You need be sentenced to doing all this persons dirty work, like cleaning his toilet and other chores that he cannot do. Or you need to be confined/handcuffed to a wheelchair and put where others can treat you the same way in which you treated this person, to show you know how it feels to not be able to defend yourself.

What is wrong with you guys?

My jaws are all but locked – I know one of the guys and should I see him – he knows I will have somethings to talk to him about. He was in the stages of making a difference not only in his life but for and on behalf of his daughter and son. he was encouraged to go to the hospital to look for a job, he was taking the waiter’s course at Bermuda College. This young man has a problem with the fire water – he needs to step aside and think about his life as it is now. I am hoping you had nothing to do with the incident – speak up and out so that you can clear your name and move on…. if you need help, ask for it – it is there for the asking – for all who have problems with the alcohol.. Ye have not because ye ask not and if you have asked and slid – get back up and go asking again…
