Bacardi Continues As Let Us Drive Sponsor

March 12, 2012

CADA, encouraging responsible alcohol behavior, today announced that Bacardi Limited, the largest privately held spirits company in the world, will continue its support of the Let Us Drive program.

Making the announcement was CADA’s Chairman, Mr. Anthony Santucci, who stated, “I am pleased to announce that Bacardi Limited, for the sixth consecutive year, has agreed to be the lead sponsor for the hugely successful, Let Us Drive program.

“This life-saving, late night transportation service provides rides home for people who may have been out drinking late on a Friday night. With the support of Bacardi Limited and our other sponsors, to date, Let Us Drive has taken home close to 7,000 people. The number of lives potentially saved is immeasurable.”

Stewart Gurr, Managing Director of Bacardi added, “Social and corporate responsibility has always been a foundation of Bacardi and for the past 150 years, Bacardi has built on this commitment by giving back to communities through volunteerism, social and educational initiatives, as well as financial donations.

“Much of our focus with organizations has been on effective self regulatory codes, education, retailer programs and drunk driving and traffic safety initiatives. Family-owned Bacardi Limited congratulates CADA for creating and administering Let Us Drive, and through our sponsorship we emphasize our commitment to ensuring anyone who needs a safe ride home on a Friday night can access this free service. We applaud everyone involved in the running and maintenance of this important community service.”

Let Us Drive taxis are available every Friday night between 3:15am and 3:45am from outside the LOM Building on Reid Street.
