March 21, 2012

The police released an update on their inquiries into the death of 41-year-old Donald Tucker, and said the initial autopsy results suggest that Mr. Tucker died of natural causes.

A statement issued by the Police said, “The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that the initial autopsy results regarding the sudden death of 41 year old Donald Tucker, suggest that Mr. Tucker died of natural causes.

“The deceased’s family has been made aware of the findings via their appointed Family Liaison Officer. Inquiries into this matter are ongoing.”

At around 7:10pm on Sunday [Mar.18] police received a report of a man missing at sea. Two men were out fishing earlier that day in the Cooper’s Island, St. George’s area. One of the men returned to shore safely around 6:30pm; however Mr Tucker was unaccounted for.

As a result, officers from the Marine Police Unit searched the Cooper’s Island area waters for Mr. Tucker and the Maritime Operations Centre appealed for any vessels in the area to assist in locating him. On Monday morning, Mr. Tucker’s lifeless body was recovered from waters in the vicinity of Cooper’s Island and Nonsuch Island.

Mr Tucker was employed as an EMT, and a statement from the Bermuda Hospitals Board said he was “respected and admired by his co-workers, as well as by his patients and was deeply committed to providing outstanding pre-hospital medical care to this community.”

Dr. Ed Schultz, Director of Emergency Services at KEMH said that Mr. Tucker was “one of the most professional, caring, and positive healthcare providers that I have ever worked with.”

jus a little confused, someone can help me to understand.
Drowning wouldnt be considered as a natural cause, right? so are they suggesting that he died from ‘a natural cause’ and then fell into the water or died of ‘natural cause’ while in the water?

RIP Mr. Tucker and my condolences to the family
