Man Pleads Not Guilty To Firearm Charges
20-year-old Gariko Benjamin pleaded not guilty to four counts during this morning’s [Apr.2] Supreme Court Monthly Arraignments session.
The charges were: unlawful possession of a firearm; unlawful discharge of a firearm; taking a motorcycle without the owner’s permission and riding dangerously; and threatening behaviour to Police. All charges stem from activity on 25th January 2012.
The shooting occurred at around 10:30am on Wednesday, January 25th in the Mount Hill/ Overview Hill area in Pembroke. No one was injured; however the suspect[s] stole a blue motocross cycle from the scene and fled in a westerly direction with police in pursuit.
At the time of his apprehension in Sandy’s and in threatening Police, Mr Benjamin is alleged to have said: “You think you’re bad because you’ve got a gun. You’re not the only one with a gun.”
Mr Benjamin was remanded into custody for a June trial.

I have a relative who’s done time overseas and Westgate. He told me right up front prison life in Bermuda is a joke. I remember when he came home he said cuz I’m not going back again. Every since his time over there he has turned his life around.
You can’t compare it to the one he was in everyday he was afraid for his life as the gangs in the prison controlled everything. He got a free pass since he was from Bermuda.
Without going into too much detail the prison had 4 main gangs.
The Whites Aryan Brotherhood,
The Black Guerrilla Family,
The Hispanic Latin Kings,
The Mexican Mafia,
He was placed in the group called “Other” and was scared as crap everyday not because he was a punk, but the gangs had the numbers.

its truly a sad day, thieves go unpunished, drink drivers who damage peoples property get less punishment because they drive the same car as the person sentencing them and Government workers have to take a pay cut because someone “mismanged” the public $$$ and allowed others to steal it.
