Upcoming: Whitney & Sandys School Clean Up Day

May 10, 2012

Minister of Youth, Families and Sports Glenn Blakeney announced that Whitney Institute Middle School and Sandys Secondary Middle School on behalf of the Mirrors Continuation Programme are hosting a School Clean up Day on May 12, 2012 from 10am – 3pm and May 19, from 10am – 3pm, respectively.

The students will be painting, cleaning and doing general maintenance of their school as a way of giving back to their school environment. The students would like to invite the community to join in on these events as the intention is not only to improve their school environment but to build community relationships.

The Mirrors Programme is looking for individuals to commit to attend for at least 2 hours. Members of the public can confirm their attendance by contacting Jeanene Todd at 294-9291 or jvtodd@gov.bm.

Minister Blakeney said: “I would like to invite the public to continue to support this amazing programme and attend one of school cleanup days as outlined above. Join us as we continue to transform our community, one person at a time.”

For more information on how you can play a part in the Mirrors Programme call 294-9291 or email mirrors@gov.bm.
