27 Weekend Arrests: Warrants & DUI
Over the long National Heroes Day weekend, police officers arrested 16 people for outstanding warrants, and arrested 11 people on suspicion of impaired driving.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:30am on Monday June 18th, police were on mobile patrol along St. David’s Road in St. George’s when they observed an SUV that was travelling erratically. Officers stopped the vehicle and approached the driver, a 25 year old Devonshire man who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.
“Around 1:40am on Saturday June 16th, police were on mobile patrol along South Road in Paget when they noticed a motorcycle travelling erratically. Officers caused the motorcycle to stop and approached the rider, a 41 year old Sandys man who appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained in police custody as a result. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.”
