Three Boats, One Windsurfer Require Assistance

“During the inclement weather experienced on Sunday, June 17th 2012 there were four incidents reported to police of private marine vessels needing assistance, involving three boats and one wind surfer,” said a police spokesperson.

“The Police Marine Unit including Bermuda Regiment personnel were on duty and responded, escorting at least one of the private vessels safely to shore. The other vessels were able to make it safely ashore without incident.

“As a result all reported vessels, as well as their operators and occupants, were accounted for. There were no reported injuries.”

On Sunday the Bermuda Weather Service issued a Severe Weather Warning, and also warned of “possible squalls and funnel clouds.”
